2012 Masters International results-At Last!

Hello all,

Sorry for the delay in getting the results to you. I was suffering seriously sleep deprivation following the double meet headliner weekend of the 2012 Masters International and the 2012 National Marathon Championships.

The meet grew by about 30% from the last year , was the largest turnout in about ten years. The 2012 MI featured fast races, with some serious battles in the M55 (Harris vs Gildelamadrid) , M60, M65 (Gunther vs Scholefield), and M70 (Harding vs Steffel) classes. The fearsome Vince Morris continues to skate dominantly in all his races. Although veteran speedster F65 Carole Moore and quick newcomer F50 Dawn Vircks were in different divisions, they quite often found themselves in a dead heat streaking to the finish line in the women's field of combined age group races. Their 500M battle was especially riveting. Kelly Bennet was off to a fast start with a victory in her first race, but then had "gravity issues" during her next race. F30 Diane Kaiser brought added competitiveness to the women's division this year as a newer speed skater.

Meanwhile Glenn Corso was busy with stiff competition from an always super fast and competitive all ages masters open division. This year Glenn won his first overall MI title.
Newcomer M35 Michael Pereckas continues to improve, and locked horns with M40 Brian Yunker through combined age division races.

I hope to see you all again next year.
